Fishing with Peter

It was a good night to go fishing. Peter and his friends put their nets into Peter’s boat and rowed out to their favourite fishing place. – Slide 1

They put their nets over the side and waited. After a long time they pulled the heavy net in, but there wasn’t even one tiny fish! They would have to try another place. – Slide 2

They tried all night but caught no fish! Fishing was hard work. They were hungry and tired. It was time to go home. – Slide 3

Peter saw lots of people on the beach with Jesus. They wanted Jesus to tell them a story. ‘Can I use your boat?’ Jesus asked Peter. He wanted the boat, so everyone could see Him. – Slide 4

Jesus told them that God loved them. He said to love God, be kind to each other, be honest and work hard. Peter listened to Jesus too. – Slide 5

Then Jesus said to Peter, ‘Put your net out on the other side.’ Peter replied, ‘We fished all night and caught nothing, but I will do what you say.’ – Slide 6

The net was so full of fish he needed help. It was a miracle! Jesus said, ‘Follow me. I will show you something better than fishing! You can tell people about God’s love.’ – Slide 7
