Matthew 9:32-34, Luke 11:14-23
Jesus delivers a mute man from his affliction and is accused of using power from the devil.

A man who was demon-possessed was brought to Jesus. – Slide 1

He was unable to talk or explain anything. – Slide 2

Jesus ordered the demon to leave the man. – Slide 3

Immediately the demon left the man and he was free of its evil influence. – Slide 4

The delivered man could now speak and everyone marvelled at the miracle Jesus had performed. – Slide 5

Some watching did not believe that this miracle was from God and muttered, ‘Jesus casts out demons by using Satan’s power.’ Others demanded a sign from heaven to prove Jesus had power from God. – Slide 6

Jesus replied, ‘Any kingdom filled with civil war is doomed, so is a home filled with division and strife. If Satan is fighting against himself by giving me the power to cast out his demons, how can his kingdom survive? But if I am casting out demons because of power from God, it proves that the Kingdom of God has arrived. – Slide 7

‘When a powerful man, strong and fully armed, guards his palace, it is safe until someone stronger attacks and overpowers him. Anyone who is not for me is against me. If he isn’t helping me, he is hurting my cause.’ – Slide 8

Jesus warned, ‘When a demon is cast out of a person, it goes to the deserts. When it finds no rest it returns to the person it left, and finds that its former home is all clean. Then it gets seven more evil demons and they all enter that person making him seven times worse off than he was before.’ – Slide 9

A woman in the crowd called out to Jesus, ‘God bless your mother who bore you and breastfed you.’ – Slide 10

Jesus replied, ‘Yes, but even more blessed are those who hear the Word of God and put it into practice.’ – Slide 11
