This story is about Jesus and took place just a few days before He went to the cross to die for our sins. It is also about Mary, who wanted to show Jesus just how much she loved and worshipped Him, and Judas, an apostle of Jesus, who was greedy and selfish. – Slide 1
Mary had a very expensive jar of perfume that was worth a year’s wages. – Slide 2
Jesus was invited to supper at a home in Bethany. Martha was there serving, Mary was there too. – Slide 3
Mary knew that in a few days Jesus would die on the cross for the sins of the world. <br/>She wanted to pour out her love to Jesus because of all He had done for her. So she came to Jesus with her very expensive vial of precious oil. Mary broke the vial and anointed the head of Jesus with the oil. – Slide 4
Then, Mary anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair. The fragrance of the expensive oil filled the room. – Slide 5
Judas was at dinner with Jesus and he became very angry, saying, ‘Why wasn’t this oil sold and the money given to the poor?’ <br/>Judas didn’t really care about the poor, he just wanted more money for Himself. – Slide 6
Jesus, however, praised Mary. He said, ‘Leave her alone, she has done a good deed for Me.’ <br/>Mary loved Jesus so much! Her love drove her to worship Jesus and do what she could to show Him her love, no matter what it cost her. – Slide 7
Jesus showed His love for us by dying on the cross for our sins. – Slide 8
Mary showed her love for Jesus by anointing Him with precious oil. – Slide 9
But Judas went off to betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. – Slide 10
