A man once made a request of Jesus, ‘Teacher, tell my brother to divide with me the property our father left us.’ Jesus answered, ‘Who made me a judge over you? Beware of being greedy!’ – Slide 1
And Jesus then told this parable: The land of a certain rich man bore good crops and he thought, ‘What should I do?’ – Slide 2
‘I don’t have enough room to store all my crops. I know what I will do: I will tear down my barns, and build bigger ones; and then I will have room to store all my crops and goods.’ – Slide 3
‘Then I will relax and think to myself, “You lucky man! You have everything you need for many years to come; so now you can enjoy your life, eating, drinking, and having fun.”’ – Slide 4
‘But God called him a fool, telling him he would die that night and asking him, “Who now will benefit from all these things that you have stored for yourself?”’ – Slide 5
This describes the person who only piles up treasure for himself, but is not rich in the things that matter to God. – Slide 6
