He sent two helpers to get a little donkey that was tied up beside its mother in the town nearby. – Slide 2

They found the little donkey where Jesus said. They told the man who owned the donkey that Jesus needed it to go to Jerusalem, and they took the little donkey back to Jesus. – Slide 3

They put their coats over the donkey’s back, for Jesus to sit on. Jesus sat on the donkey’s back and set off for the temple in Jerusalem. – Slide 4

Some people picked palm branches from palm trees growing by the road. Others came out to the city to welcome Jesus. – Slide 5

Everyone was happy to see Jesus. ‘Hosanna to the King,’ they shouted as Jesus went up the road into the city of Jerusalem. Hosanna means ‘Save us.’ – Slide 7

When they got close to the Temple, some of the grown-ups stopped praising Jesus. They were afraid to tell others that Jesus was King. But the children did not stop praising God. They waved their palm branches and shouted, ‘Hosanna to the King.’ – Slide 9

Some of the people in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, tell these children to stop shouting.’ But Jesus was pleased with the worship of the children and would not tell them to stop. – Slide 10
