Jesus cleanses the Temple

After riding triumphantly into Jerusalem, Jesus entered the Temple courts. – Slide 1
He saw that money changers had set up tables in the Temple. There were also traders selling doves to be used for sacrifices. Jesus exclaimed. ‘Is it not written, “My house will be called a house of prayer? ‘But you have turned it into a den of robbers.”’ – Slide 2
Jesus overturned the tables of the corrupt money changers. He overturned the benches of those selling doves. – Slide 3
Jesus drove out all who were buying or selling and stopped anyone carrying goods through the Temple courts. – Slide 4
The chief priests and the teachers of the law and the leaders plotted how they could kill Jesus. – Slide 5
Jesus then left the Temple and returned to Bethany. – Slide 6
