Jesus and His disciple were near Jerusalem at Bethphage on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two disciples ahead to the next village saying, ‘You will find a donkey in the village with her colt. Untie it and bring it to me. If anyone asks you what you are doing say that the Lord needs them.’ – Slide 1

They went and brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. Many people spread their coats on the road before Jesus. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Some of the people were walking ahead of Jesus. Others were walking behind Him. – Slide 2

All the people were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! (Hosanna means ‘praise’). God bless the One who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise to God in heaven!’ – Slide 3

Then Jesus rode into Jerusalem. The city was filled with excitement. The people asked, ‘Who is this man? The crowd answered, ‘This man is Jesus. He is the prophet from the town of Nazareth in Galilee.’ – Slide 4

Jesus went into the Temple. He threw out all the people who were buying and selling there. He turned over the tables that belonged to the men who were exchanging different kinds of money. And He upset the benches of those who were selling doves. – Slide 5

Jesus said to all the people there, ‘It is written in the Scriptures, “My Temple will be a house where people will pray.” But you are changing God’s house into a hideout for robbers.’
The blind and crippled people came to Jesus in the Temple, and Jesus healed them.
The leading priests and the teachers of the law heard children praising Jesus in the Temple by saying, ‘Praise to the Son of David.’
They were angry and asked Jesus, ‘Do you hear the things these children are saying?’
Jesus answered, ‘Yes. Haven’t you read in the Scriptures, “You have taught children and babies to sing praises”?’
Then Jesus left and went out of the city. – Slide 6
