While Jesus was teaching a group of people He warned them about the proud teachers of the law who often told people how God wanted them to live, but did not live that way themselves. <br/>‘They like to walk around in flowing robes,’ Jesus said of these show-offs. – Slide 1

‘They love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces,’ Jesus continued, as He talked about these proud people who acted as through they were very important. – Slide 2

Jesus then said, ‘They have the most important seats in the synagogues … – Slide 3

‘… and the places of honor at banquets.’ – Slide 4

Jesus then pointed out that they were very greedy. ‘Instead of looking after widows they cheat them out of their houses and their money. – Slide 5

‘Then they show-off in public by speaking loud prayers that go on and on for a long time.’ – Slide 6

Jesus had a warning for these hypocrites. ‘They will face God’s judgement and be punished most severely.’ – Slide 7

God wants us to be people who are humble, kind and obey Him. He does not want us to say one thing and then do another. – Slide 8
