Walking on water

Jesus walks on water but Peter sinks.

After feeding over 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish, Jesus told His disciples to get into their boat and go ahead of Him to the other side of Lake Galilee. Then Jesus went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. – Slide 1

Night fell, and out on the lake the disciples were in trouble. – Slide 2

The wind had risen and they were fighting heavy seas. – Slide 3

About four o’clock in the morning Jesus came to them, walking on the water! – Slide 4

They screamed in terror, for they thought He was a ghost. – Slide 5

But Jesus immediately spoke to them, ‘Don’t be afraid!’. – Slide 6

Peter shouted out: “If it is really you Jesus, tell me to come over to you, walking on the water.’ – Slide 7

‘All right,’ Jesus replied, ‘come to Me!’ – Slide 8

Peter got out of the boat … – Slide 9

But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid. – Slide 11

He began to sink in the water and cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ – Slide 12

At once Jesus put out His hand and took hold of him. Jesus said to Peter, ‘You have so little faith! Why did you doubt?’ – Slide 13
